Which air line lubricator size do I need?
This page is the VK 40, the 5 litre size and the largest Vikay builds. The VK 20 holds 0.71 litres and the VK 30 holds 1.3 litres. The VK 40 is sized for a line feeding a heavy machine or several tools, passing up to 600 cfm at 150 psi.

Where is the VK 40 mounted?
On the main air line rather than at the tool. It stands 400 mm tall, is 209 mm across and takes a 1 1/2" BSP end connection, so it is fixed in the supply upstream of the working face. Five litres of oil is enough that nobody has to break off to refill a small bowl at the machine.
What does an air line lubricator actually do?
It meters oil into the compressed air so that the oil travels to the tool in the air stream. A pneumatic machine with no built in lubrication has no other oil supply: without it the piston and cylinder wear fast and the machine loses blow energy well before it should.
