Pneumatic Scabblers (also called scarifiers or bush hammers) are air-powered surface preparation tools used to roughen, profile, or remove surface laitance from concrete and stone. Vikay supplies scabblers for use in tunnel lining preparation, floor coating adhesion, concrete repair, and surface scarification in construction and civil engineering projects.

Scabblers are lightweight and compact tools feature tungsten-carbide tipped pistons that oscillate within the head or cylinder of the scabbler, striking the surface of the material being worked on. Each scabbler has three pistons mounted in line. The cycling of the pistons is driven by the air porting arrangements in the piston assembly. These machines are examples of valveless piston motors.
