The VK 16W Jackleg Rock Drill weighs 28.5 kg without the leg and drills 27 to 41 mm holes at 2,340 blows per minute from a 70 mm piston, on 69 l/s of air at 6 bar. The pusher leg carries the feed force, so the operator guides and rotates the drill rather than pushing it, which is what keeps it workable through a full shift in narrow drifts, tunnels and confined headings. It takes a 22 x 108 mm hex shank and pairs with the VK 51 pusher leg, Vikay's equivalent of the Atlas Copco BMT 51. Every wear part is manufactured to original specification and interchanges with the Atlas Copco BBC 16W.

Can the VK 16W replace an Atlas Copco BBC 16W?

Yes. It is the technical equivalent: the same 22 x 108 mm hex shank, the same 6 bar working pressure, the same pusher-leg mounting and the same 27-41 mm hole range. It is manufactured by Vikay Mining Equipments in India and is not an Atlas Copco product.

Will my existing BBC 16W spare parts fit?

Yes. Wear parts are manufactured to original specification and interchange with the OEM drill.

Which pusher leg does it use?

The VK 51, Vikay's equivalent of the Atlas Copco BMT 51. The same leg serves the BBC 34W.

What air supply does it need?

69 l/s (146 cfm) at 6 bar through a 25 mm air inlet, with a 13 mm water inlet for wet drilling.
