Pneumatic Slim Drill for Wire sawing VK-PSD
The VK-PSD is a pneumatic slim drill built by Vikay Mining Equipments in India for marble and granite quarries, drilling the lead holes that diamond wire cutting runs through. It uses the down the hole method to drill 85 to 130 mm holes up to 40 metres, vertically or horizontally, on 450 cfm at 10.5 bar. A ball joint at the foot of the mast allows the precision alignment that matching holes demand, and the machine dismantles into sub assemblies light enough to reposition by hand. Rotation is by the heavy duty BBR-4 unit with planetary and reduction gearbox; feed is a four cylinder piston motor with worm reduction gearbox; control is a gang type remote panel with pressure regulator and a 3 litre lubricator.

Will my compressor run the VK-PSD?
The VK-PSD needs 450 cfm at 10.5 bar, delivered continuously. Size the compressor against that figure rather than against a peak.
Do I need a slim drill or a wagon drill?
A slim drill for dimension stone: it drills the lead holes that diamond wire cutting is threaded through. Those holes have to meet each other accurately, which is why the mast carries a ball joint at its foot for precision alignment, and why the machine dismantles into sub assemblies light enough to reposition by hand.
