Description
VK 9B Rotary Drill
VK 9B Rotary Drill is built by Vikay Mining Equipments in India and is technically equivalent to the CP 9B Rotary Hammer. It is used for wide variety of construction and maintenance applications such as drilling holes in concrete, bricks or rock. Spare parts for this machine are supplied to original specification. Hand Drill – VK 9B ( 10 lb )
The VK 9B is a 4.5 kg rotary hammer, technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 0009B. It both drills and chips, running at 3,420 blows per minute on 9 l/s of air with right hand rotation, and drills holes from 8 to 44 mm, working best from 8 to 25 mm at depths to 300 mm. Its power to weight ratio beats a comparable electric rotary hammer, and a built in oiler keeps it lubricated continuously. Used for masonry anchors, roof drilling for ventilation ducts in buildings, mines and tunnels, and for scaling and scarifying.
Application
Drilling holes in concrete, bricks or rocks
Driving or setting masonry anchors
Roof drilling for the suspension of ventilation ducts in buildings, mines, tunnels etc.
Other applications include drilling, chipping, scarifying and scaling
Features
Versatile tool is both a drill and a chipping hammer
Outstanding power-to-weight ratio helps drill holes faster and easier than comparable electric rotary hammers
Built-in oiler for continuous lubrication
Teasing throttle for precise control
Cushioned piston for smooth operation and long machine life

VK 9B Hand Drill FAQs
Can the VK 9B replace a CP 9B?
Yes. The VK 9B is technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 9B, manufactured by Vikay in India. It strikes 3,420 blows a minute at 4.5 kg on 9 l/s of air at 6 bar. It takes the same 19 x 95 shank, so drill bits already on site will fit.
Will Vikay parts fit my CP 9B?
Yes. Vikay manufactures the VK 9B, which is technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 9B, and the replacement parts alongside it. The same parts serve both, so both can be supported out of one parts stock. The CP 9B Chicago Pneumatic Hand Drill Parts page carries the full listing, part number by part number.
What is the difference between the VK 9B and the VK 14RR?
This page is the VK 9B, the lighter hand drill at 4.5 kg. Both are pneumatic rotary drills for holes in concrete, brick and block. The VK 14RR is the larger of the two and takes the heavier work; the VK 9B is the lighter hand drill.
Will my compressor run the VK 9B?
The VK 9B needs 9 l/s at 6 bar (19 cfm at 87 psi), delivered continuously. The air connection is 9.5 BSP. At 3,420 blows a minute the draw is constant rather than intermittent, so size the compressor against that figure rather than against a peak.
Will my existing drill bits fit the VK 9B?
The VK 9B takes a 19 x 95 shank, so any drill bit cut to that shank fits, whatever machine it came off. Measure the shank on your existing tools rather than going by the model number. The retainer is the quick change type.
