Description
VK S215 Pusherleg Rock Drill
VK S215 Pusherleg Rock Drill is built by Vikay Mining Equipments in India and is technically equivalent to the Nasa 215, Seco S215 Pusherleg Jack Hammer. It is used for blast hole drilling in the narrow vein stopping operations found in tabular ore bodies. Spare parts for this machine are supplied to original specification. Request a quotation.
Jackleg Drill – VK S215 ( 56 lb )
The VK S215 is a 25.5 kg pusher leg jackhammer, technically equivalent to the Nasa 215 and Seco S215. It is the standard machine for blast hole drilling in narrow vein stoping in tabular ore bodies, where low stope heights leave no room for a larger drill. It delivers 2,175 blows per minute on 55 l/s of air through a 22 x 108 mm shank, in a 730 mm body light enough to manoeuvre in a confined face.

VK S215 Rock Drill FAQs
Can the VK S215 replace a Nasa 215?
Yes. Vikay manufactures the VK S215 in India as the technical equivalent of the Nasa 215. It strikes 2,175 blows a minute at 25.5 kg on 55 l/s of air at 6 bar. It takes the same 22 x 108 mm shank, so drill steel already on site will fit.
Which Vikay rock drill do I need?
This page is the VK S215 at 25.5 kg, the heaviest in the range. Four are manufactured and the hole decides between them. The VK 12D and VK 12T are the light sinkers at 9.8 and 11.1 kg, D handle for horizontal and plug hole work, T handle for vertical holes to about 3 metres. The VK 65 at 25 kg is the bench and secondary drilling machine, and the VK S215 is the pusherleg drill for blast holes in narrow vein stoping.
Will my compressor run the VK S215?
The VK S215 needs 55 l/s at 6 bar (115 cfm at 87 psi), delivered continuously. The inlet is 19 mm, so run at least that hose bore: anything narrower throttles the machine before the compressor does. At 2,175 blows a minute the draw is constant rather than intermittent, so the compressor has to hold the figure under load, not merely reach it.
Will my existing drill steel fit the VK S215?
The VK S215 takes a 22 x 108 mm shank (7/8" X 4 1/4"), with 25 x 158 mm available as an option, so any drill steel cut to that shank fits, whatever machine it came off. Order tools against the shank, not against the machine.
