Moil Point and Chisel Point for Paving Breaker
Vikay supplies moil points and chisel points for most types of pneumatic paving breaker and hydraulic breaker, manufactured in India. They are made from specially selected low carbon steel and heat treated under full process control, which is what determines how long a point holds its shape in hard material. What is the difference between a moil point and a chisel?
A moil point comes to a single point and is used to punch into and split material, which is what starts a break in concrete or rock. A chisel has a flat cutting edge and is used to cut along a line, trim a face or lift asphalt. Most breaker work uses the moil point to open the material and the chisel to work it back.
What shank sizes do Vikay breaker points come in?
The common size is a 1.25 inch hex shank, supplied in 14, 15 and 24 inch lengths as peg points and as chisels. Other shanks to suit the standard paving breaker and hydraulic breaker ranges are made to order. The shank has to match the breaker, so check the machine's shank size before ordering.
