Description
VK 4123 Chipping Hammer
VK 4123 Chipping Hammer is built by Vikay Mining Equipments in India and is technically equivalent to the CP 4123 Pneumatic Chippers. It is used for wide variety of construction and industrial applications, from light to medium chipping to heavy cutting. Spare parts for this machine are supplied to original specification. Chipping Hammer – VK 4123 ( 17 lb )
The VK 4123 is a 7.5 kg chipping hammer, technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 4123. It delivers 2,050 blows per minute on 14 l/s of air at 6.2 bar, the highest blow rate of the three Vikay chipping hammers, which suits relatively hard concrete in demolition, pile capping and bridge deck work as well as foundry and fabrication use. It is supplied with a pistol grip handle and outside trigger, in 2, 3 or 4 inch cylinder stroke versions with round or hex bushing.
Features
• Heat treated cylinder
• Spline locking to prevent loosening of handle or cylinder
• Powerful, yet compact and light - weight
• Rugged construction, hardened steel cylinder and handle
• Teasing throttle for precise control
• Pistol grip handle with self-closing outside trigger
• Available in 2”, 3” or 4” cylinder stroke versions

VK 4123 Chipping Hammer FAQs
Can the VK 4123 replace a CP 4123?
Yes, that is the duty it is made for: the VK 4123 is technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 4123. A 28.6 mm piston on a 76.2 mm stroke gives 2,050 blows a minute at 7.5 kg on 14 l/s of air at 6.2 bar. It takes the same 14.7 mm shank, so chisels, cup tools and scaling tools already on site will fit.
Will Vikay parts fit my CP 4123?
Yes. Vikay manufactures the VK 4123, which is technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 4123, and the replacement parts alongside it. The same parts serve both, so both can be supported out of one parts stock. See the CP 4123 Chicago Pneumatic Chipping Hammer Parts page for the part numbers and the assembly each one belongs to.
Which Vikay chipping hammer size do I need?
This page is the VK 4123, the lightest of the three at 7.5 kg. The VK 4123 is the lightest, for light to medium chipping. The VK 4125 is the foundry and shipyard size. The VK 4130 is the heaviest, for medium to heavy chipping, cutting and trimming. They correspond to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 4123, CP 4125 and CP 4130.
Will my compressor run the VK 4123?
The VK 4123 needs 14 l/s at 6.2 bar (30 cfm at 90 psi), delivered continuously. The inlet is 9.5 mm, so run at least that hose bore: anything narrower throttles the machine before the compressor does. At 2,050 blows a minute the draw is constant rather than intermittent, so allow headroom for hose length and for worn couplings.
Will my existing chisels, cup tools and scaling tools fit the VK 4123?
The VK 4123 takes a 14.7 mm shank (0.580"), so any chisel cut to that shank fits, whatever machine it came off. Measure the shank on your existing tools rather than going by the model number. The retainer is the spring type.
