Chipping Hammer – VK 4125 ( 17 lb )
The VK 4125 is a 7.6 kg chipping hammer, technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 4125. At 1,650 blows per minute on 16 l/s of air it hits harder and slower than the VK 4123, which is what shipyards, refineries and foundries want for scaling and heavy cutting rather than light trimming. Spline locking stops the handle or cylinder working loose. Available in 2, 3 or 4 inch cylinder stroke versions with round or hex bushing.

Can the VK 4125 replace a CP 4125?
Yes. The VK 4125 is technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 4125, manufactured by Vikay in India. A 28.6 mm piston on a 76.20 mm stroke gives 1,650 blows a minute at 7.6 kg on 16 l/s of air at 6.2 bar. It takes the same 14.7 mm shank, so chisels, cup tools and scaling tools already on site will fit.
Will Vikay parts fit my CP 4125?
Yes. Vikay manufactures the VK 4125, which is technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 4125, and the replacement parts alongside it. Which Vikay chipping hammer size do I need?
This page is the VK 4125, the foundry and shipyard size at 7.6 kg. The VK 4123 is the lightest, for light to medium chipping. The VK 4125 is the foundry and shipyard size. The VK 4130 is the heaviest, for medium to heavy chipping, cutting and trimming. They correspond to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 4123, CP 4125 and CP 4130.
Will my compressor run the VK 4125?
The VK 4125 needs 16 l/s at 6.2 bar (34 cfm at 90 psi), delivered continuously. The inlet is 9.5 mm, so run at least that hose bore: anything narrower throttles the machine before the compressor does. At 1,650 blows a minute the draw is constant rather than intermittent, so size the compressor against that figure rather than against a peak.
Will my existing chisels, cup tools and scaling tools fit the VK 4125?
The VK 4125 takes a 14.7 mm shank (0.580"), so any chisel cut to that shank fits, whatever machine it came off. If the shank does not match, the tools are the cheaper thing to change. The retainer is the spring type.
