Clay Digger – VK FL22S ( 24 lb )
The VK FL 22S is the silenced VK FL 22, technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP FL 22S trench digger. It delivers 1,320 blows per minute on 21 l/s of air through a 19 x 82 mm shank, with the same machined barrel and top mounted exhaust port that keep it working in dirty air. Specify it for light to medium demolition, trenching and renovation where noise is restricted.

Can the VK FL 22S replace a CP FL 22S?
Yes, that is the duty it is made for: the VK FL 22S is technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP FL 22S. A 40 mm piston on a 44 mm stroke gives 1,320 blows a minute at 11 kg on 21 l/s of air at 6.2 bar. It takes the same 19 x 82 mm shank, so clay spades, moil points and chisels already on site will fit.
Will Vikay parts fit my CP FL 22S?
Yes. Vikay manufactures the VK FL 22S, which is technically equivalent to the Chicago Pneumatic CP FL 22S, and the replacement parts alongside it. The same parts serve both, so an existing machine in the field can be maintained on them. Which Vikay clay digger do I need?
This page is the VK FL 22S at 11 kg, in the middle of the range. Two sizes are manufactured, at 10 kg and 11 kg, each in a plain and a silenced version. Both take clay spades and moil points for trenching, laterite and frozen ground, so the choice comes down to how much weight the operator can work with all shift and whether the site has a noise limit. Check the shank against the spades already held before ordering.

Will my compressor run the VK FL 22S?
The VK FL 22S needs 21 l/s at 6.2 bar (45 cfm at 90 psi), delivered continuously. The inlet is 19 mm, so run at least that hose bore: anything narrower throttles the machine before the compressor does. At 1,320 blows a minute the draw is constant rather than intermittent, so allow headroom for hose length and for worn couplings.
Will my existing clay spades, moil points and chisels fit the VK FL 22S?
The VK FL 22S takes a 19 x 82 mm shank (¾" x 3 ½"), so any clay spade cut to that shank fits, whatever machine it came off. Check the shank on the tools already held before ordering.
