VK 09PS Pick Hammer - TEX 09PS
The VK 09 PS is a 10 kg pick hammer, technically equivalent to the Atlas Copco TEX 09 PS. It is the middle machine in the range, at 1,800 blows per minute on 18.5 l/s of air, which puts more energy into each blow than the VK 05P while staying manageable overhead. It is used for chipping concrete, roughening surfaces, hole making and demolition, and comes with a noise reducing muffler and a screw cap retainer.

Can the VK 09 PS replace a TEX 09?
Yes. The VK 09 PS is Vikay's technical equivalent of the Atlas Copco TEX 09, made in India. It strikes 1,800 blows a minute at 10 kg on 18.5 l/s of air. It takes the same 22 x 82.5 mm shank, so picks, chisels and moil points already on site will fit.
Will Vikay parts fit my TEX 09?
Yes. Vikay manufactures the VK 09 PS, which is technically equivalent to the Atlas Copco TEX 09, and the replacement parts alongside it. Which Vikay pick hammer size do I need?
This page is the VK 09 PS, the middle size at 10 kg. Three are manufactured, and the number is the size. The VK 05P is the lightest, for chipping and renovation work. The VK 09 PS is the middle size and the VK 12 PS the heaviest, for structural alteration and sustained concrete work. They correspond to the Atlas Copco TEX 05, TEX 09 and TEX 12.
Will my compressor run the VK 09 PS?
The VK 09 PS needs 18.5 l/s (39 cfm), delivered continuously. At 1,800 blows a minute the draw is constant rather than intermittent, so a compressor shared with a second machine has to be sized for both.
Will my existing picks, chisels and moil points fit the VK 09 PS?
The VK 09 PS takes a 22 x 82.5 mm shank (0.87" x 3.25"), so any pick cut to that shank fits, whatever machine it came off. Check the shank on the tools already held before ordering. The retainer is the cap type.
